My boyfriend took me here for a special birthday weekend getaway, and it was the perfect retreat. The room was beautiful. We stayed in "The Overlook" room, which had a small balcony with table and chairs over looking a gazebo. Our room had a canopy bed and a fireplace. The room had a tiny tv and wireless internet access. It was exceptionally clean and absolutely perfect for relaxing. The staff was really gracious and helpful. Upon check in, the staff gave us plenty of information about activities and sights in the area. They also helped my boyfriend arrange to have flowers and chocolate covered strawberries in the room upon our arrival. Each breakfast was delicious. I can't imagine not having something there you can eat. One day there was fresh fruit salad, yogurt, homemade granola, hard boiled eggs, quiche, warm croissants and muffins, bagels, coffee, tea, and juice. In the afternoon, there was tea time, with cookies or other treats. There are two porches where you can take your meals. There are also nice areas to sit in the back lawn, including two gazebos and a hammock. We found so much to do in the area that we didn't spend much time sitting and relaxing, but it's nice to know the option is there. Most importantly, it was a very short walk from the main shopping area of New Hope and the bridge to Lambertville. You can park at the Inn and not have to worry about the street and meter parking. Throughout our stay, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. I think the Inn is also pet-friendly, but of course you should double check. Overall, I can't think of anything to criticize at all and I hope to make it back there someday when I need another break from reality.

Never again. Nice that it's "homey" but he doesn't know when to mind his business. Went with my family, we all planned to pay for our rooms seperately. I was the first to check out and was told "just pay for everything on your card." When I hesitated while embarrassed in front of my girlfriend he made a rude remark about how I should make a kind gesture. Great, nice family weekend ends with the owner making me the bad guy for not footing the bill. Maybe I should have just told him the trip was not my idea and that I have 3 jobs but am still broke so he would feel more comfortable about my decision. Dude, I'm the patron. How I pay is none of you business. By far the most uncomfortable hotel experience ever. Also, the owner was only around when you didn't want him to be, ugh.. Great place ruined.

We've stayed at the wedgewood for quick weekend getaways from the city and it truly was an amazing time. The rooms are very clean and the whole house is just beautiful. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and very filling and it was always nice to sit amongsts the other guests in the AM. Great location so easily accessible by foot to center of town.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Wedgewood Inn - best parts: jacuzzi tub in our room with the cutest little bath salts and the most delicious homemade granola I've ever had at breakfast the next morning. We would definitely stay here again.

We just spent our 12th anniversary here! I told Carl, the owner, "We had the option to stay in a Marriott Suite for free using my father in laws reward points... or paying out of pocket for the Wedgewood Inn for two nights... I think we made the right choice." We splurged for the Manchester Room or the J-Room with the Double Jacuzzi which offered enough of an invitation to stay inside our room while their beautiful yard invited us out of the Inn... and of course New Hope's charm invited us into the borough which was such a close walk to everything! I'm so glad I didn't have to eat Marriott's continental breakfast but rather enjoyed what the fresh baked breads and parfaits the Wedgewood served! Thanks... We will be back!

We were given a gift certificate for a night here (thanks mom!)... only an hour twenty from our place, we felt far, far away from the NYC bustle. We were checked in early on a Friday - our room was very large, there were two sitting chairs and a table, a huge king size bed (felt like memory foam mattress... hooray!), a fireplace (where they placed house-made almond liquor on the mantle), and still plenty of walking space. Our dog's crate fit perfectly in a corner, and he happily spent his time hanging out there. I loved that they were dog-friendly... they promised to call if he barked while we were gone, which gave us peace of mind. There was a little divet covered with a mat on the floor outside our room, which freaked out dog out every time he had to walk over it, but he got over it (kinda), and other than that, everything in the place was great! Our room had a separate bathroom and shower, which was weird at first, but came in handy when my guy was showering and I wanted to brush my teeth (or, you know, do bathroom things)! The morning of our departure, we had some assorted breads, a sundried tomato quiche, fresh fruit, and yogurt and granola. All were delicious and made with love. (my guy was really grateful it wasnt mushroom quiche day). If you're ever in this area, this is a fantastic option to stay: completely walkable not only throughout New Hope, but also easy to cross the bridge into Lambertville (which had its own charm!).

Stayed here with my best friend in the third floor suite. We did not want to leave- great, relaxing space, beautiful grounds, excellent location and friendly hosts. Did not experience any of the negativity suggested in other reviews. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for Memorial Day weekend. Cozy room at the top floor with a very omfortable bed. Quaint ground to chill out and relax on.warm and friendly. Everything was great from the Bed to the Breakfast. We would come back again. Oh and best of all a short walk right into the center of New Hope

Although we had to cancel our stay here, due to medical reasons I must say the owner Carl is very professional & the staff so kind Can't wait to re book Love the idea it's around the corner to main st New Hope& on bridge store Lambertsville And close proximity to the pub we had planned to go to , to see a band But I was mostly looking fwd to a relaxing home made breakfast on serene patio! & the historic Underground Railroad is right there Amy, Morristown, NJ

Great stay. The place is very clean and the staff is friendly. The location is great- walking distance to everything. They are dog friendly and vegan friendly, I am vegan and they accommodated my breakfast needs- and I had a great vegan breakfast. The only down side was the very small shower and the noisy bathroom. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

I was extremely dissatisfied with my stay at this place. Although the food was terrible and the facilities were subpar, the worst part of all are the owners. The man is extremely rude, belligerent and inappropriately sarcastic. I asked him a simple question and he responded with three questions, instead of an answer. He does not like answering questions so don't even think about approaching him with one. The woman owner literally came up to me as I was eating breakfast, looked at my luggage, rolled her eyes, shook her head and STARTED LAUGHING IN MY FACE. I asked what the issue was and she said "that's too much luggage". It was a small carry-on. Did she expect me to pack for a weekend in a zip lock bag?? Also, it's NONE OF HER DAMN BUSINESS how I choose to pack!! Don't waste your money on this dump! You're guaranteed a miserable weekend with miserable people.

I've stayed here twice and was happy with both visits and would definitely stop in again. You get a sense of the history of this place by the creaking wood floors and the tunnel that runs beneath the home to the gazebo which was apparently used by runaway slaves. It is centrally located between New Hope, PA and Lambertville, NJ, both quaint, artistic enclaves connected by a bridge across the Delaware River. Wedgwood is a Victorian multi-level home separated into individual rooms with communal sitting and dining areas. My first stay was in a room located on the top floor and second was one off the main hallway downstairs. You compromise your overall space staying upstairs but I actually preferred the privacy as the room was more than sufficiently sized. Some favorite points of my visits were the availability of books to read which I could bring outside to the porch with my breakfast each morning and convenience of being within walking distance of both town centers. You're given a key and are free to come and go between exploring nearby attractions which obviously includes the many shops and restaurants and most conveniently Triumph Brewery. The staff is friendly and give you a rundown of available amenities and local attractions upon checking in. I've been to New Hope many times over the years and would recommend Wedgwood B&B for anyone thinking of visiting. Remember to sign the guestbook on your way out!

Terrific staff and accommodations. I originally booked the Aaron Burr inn, both owned by the same person, but because the Aaron Burr was not fully booked, they asked to move me to the Wedgwood and upgraded my room. The staff is super friendly and sociable. Breakfast is delicious, delicious cinnamon and walnut muffins. Highly recommend staying here for your overnight or weekend getaway.

A charming B&B close to town. Our first time in New Hope and really enjoyed it. Only a 10min walk to town with many good restaurants to choose. The staff are very friendly and helpful with suggestions as to where to visit for first timers. We were greeted by the owners every morning at breakfast. Would definitely come back again...

This place reeks of neglect and owner apathy. The owners really need to invest money into their properties. The stuffing is coming out of the sofa in the sitting room, the other sofa has no support to it, you sit on it and you're on the floor. The room was so warm we needed to open an window and the temperature outside was in the 20s. The room we stayed in does not have it's own thermostat. The a/c is a window unit mounted on the inside wall. That's scary in itself. I think there's a reason the back end should be outside and not in the same room where people are sleeping. The water pressure is horrible, by the same token the toilet flush is very strong. The shower head is horrible as well. Looks like they spent all of $10 on it. The only soap were two small bars of Dial and one tub squeeze bottle of "KimCare" by Kimberly Clark designed for hair and body. Scary thought using same cleaner for hair and for skin. The toilet paper is like sand paper. I suggest you bring your own. I do not like the idea of five unwrapped paper cups in the bathroom. Who knows where they have been? There should be glasses that have been wrapped for sanitary purposes. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful; tasty and piping hot! If you have any intentions of watching tv, make sure it works when you first go into your room, before the innkeepers desert the place for the night and you're stuck with fuzz for a picture. Also, make sure the tv is eye-level. The room on the second floor of the Umble House is so high up that if you look at it for more than 5 minutes, you are guaranteed a neck cramp. And the tv in the other bedrooms are not high digital or flat screened. Just be aware of what you're going to get before going in. The robes supplied have seen better days. They had been washed too many times and you could not close them around your body. They were made for people whose waistlines rivaled Barbie's and who didn't have any hips or backsides. What a shame this place is. With the staff as friendly and such good cooks and caring people, with a little capital from the stingy owners, this place would be great!

I stayed at the Wedgwood Inn and it was great. The rooms are clean, quite, specious and authentically decorated. The WiFi is fast (and free). The breakfast was both healthy and delicious. And the service was impeccable. Highly recommended !

Hubs and I were having dinner at Sprig and View one night and were having so much fun we decided to spend the night instead of drive home. We googled and found Wedgewood Inn, the first on the list and called at 7 pm on a Saturday night if they had a room available. Reckless and spontaneous, I know. They did so we walked over and were give the carriage house to stay in. The carriage house is set apart from the main building. It is a two story carriage house that overlooks a lush, green yard. There is a covered deck off the second floor bedroom that is great for reading and having a glass of wine at night or morning tea. We did have to explain we were vegan at breakfast and they had oatmeal and bagels. We have been there since our first impromptu stay and opted to bring our own soy yogurt and granola. There is a fridge in the room and a microwave. The first floor is a lovely sitting room with large windows overlooking the beautiful yard. And there is a large jacuzzi tub. The carriage house is well worth the price and makes a great weekend retreat spot. It is in walking distance to everything New Hope. Don't forget to pat the cow's arse. You'll know what I mean when you go. ;)

My Husband and I went here for a weekend getaway! The Inn keeper was very informative and welcoming. His passion for his job is obvious! He was even kind enough to offer to take pictures of us together! The bed was comfy enough. We stayed in a separate building in the top floor room. The view from our balcony was spectacular! The breakfast was yummy and they had offerings for all special diets. All in all, I would say our stay was wonderful. Thank you!

A/C was not turned on in any of the common areas despite the fact it was over ninety degrees in New Hope when we stayed there. The "innkeeper" was reluctant to turn them on when asked. Bedroom was smaller than my freshman dorm at $100 a night. Bathroom was crowded, shower had no light so it had a real "Bates Motel" feeling. The only thing the place has going for it is its location, though I'd advise anyone to spend a little more money and stay at Lambertville Inn or Logan Inn instead.

My first experience at a B&B and I have no complaints. Upon arriving we were greeted with a complimentary room upgrade "just because" there was space available. We were given a tour of the home and since neither my mom, nor I had been to New Hope, they also gave us some insight on where to eat and what to see while in town. I loved the cozy rooms and restoration they had done to the home. Everything was beautifully authenticated. Our bathroom had an adorable claw foot tub, which I immediately took advantage of with good ol' Mr. Bubbles! In the morning our inn keeper/owner had a lovely breakfast prepared. Tables were set before we even came down. Better than any continental buffet - we had fresh fruit salad, a home-made granola, croissants and a cinnamon spice bread and a warm mushroom quiche. We sat inside near the patio that looks out to the back yard. Hammocks hung from trees, there were garden tables spread about, and a picturesque gazebo in the distance. It was beautiful and the hospitality was memorably welcoming.

My wife and I stayed at this location for a get away weekend. A couple of things to note, they are dog friendly and we brought ours. We crated him during the day when we went out into New Hope. That was one of the reasons we used this B & B. Second, their are all kinds of little perks that you receive. From the home made Almond liqour, fresh cookies during the day, and truly wonderful breakfast. Several homes are combined into one B & B breakfast Inn. The separate homes allow for people staying to feel more private. Each home is unique in some way. Each of the rooms are different, we did see a few. And ours had a nice huge tub in it for a nice relaxing time. Each room has a journal, where guests left thoughts or experiences in it. Some are a little interesting. I would definately go to this location again. It was a perfect weekend.

Second time here. Wasn't thrilled the first time, but had to book last minute this time and figured we'd go with the devil that we know. Everywhere was booked so we decided to give it another chance. Bad idea.The room was nice (claw foot tub was the main draw). We were let in by some guests who were heading out for the night,and were met by an employee who rudely inquired how we managed to get in,and then scolded us for not ringing the bell. The owner who came shortly after was polite enough to let us know about the fireworks and which restaurants had the best views. We ended up going to Marsha Brown after the suggested places had refused to seat due to rain,and had an awesome dinner. We went back to the inn for a cozy night in and a good rest. When we awoke and headed to breakfast,the owner again gretted us and asked where we went-when we told her she gave us a patronizing look and seemed amazed that we could afford such a place(it's actually pretty reasonable). We later asked our server if we could move our breakfast to the outside,and she happily allowed it. However,once out there, we were completely ignored,despite the couple next to us getting great service. In short,this place is lovely and reasonably priced, but the owners make it uncomfortable. I'd rather give my money to more welcoming people, not coming here again. Side note-the owner is carl glassman,and many positive reviews and suggestions to come here come from user Carl G. Seems pretty coincidental. If it's him posting these, that's a really awful and inappropriate thing to do...

The Wedgwood Inn was a delightful escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of NYC. We first arrived in New Hope on Friday night, and unfortunately spent the first night at a different B & B. After being up all night from a horrible sleep in a very stuffy room, we decided to leave on Saturday morning in hopes of finding somewhere that was a little more comfortable and clean. The Wedgwood Inn met both of those requirements. When we first knocked on the door, we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who offered to show us the rooms that were still available for Saturday night. We wound up booking a room upstairs in the main house that was spectacularly clean and beautifully decorated. There were details all over the house that added to its charm. I especially liked the dining room because it had large windows which let in a lot of sun. They held an afternoon tea in this room where they offered hot cider, tea, coffee, and some baked goods. It was the perfect break from walking around town all day. The owners and staff were extremely friendly and offered many suggestions for places to eat in town. After chatting with them, we went out for a nice dinner at Lilly's and then drinks at Masha Brown's in Lambertville. Both great spots! Finally, we came home to a peaceful sleep in a clean bed, which was much needed after the previous night. The only reason I didn't give this 5 starts was because my husband was hoping for a hot breakfast, and although the breakfast they served was delicious, it contained mainly cold items. (fruit, yogurt, juice, granola, bagels, muffins, smoked fish, tomato, hard-boiled eggs,coffee, tea). This didn't bother me, as I'm more of a carb girl in the morning anyway, but I think he would've preferred prepared eggs to order. Overall, a wonderful experience, and highly recommended for a romantic getaway.

We have stayed at the 2 B&Bs that are owned by the same people as the Wedgwood - the Aaron Burr House (stayed during New Years2011and spring 2011) and the Umpleby House (this past weekend for our anniversary). We love these places! The location is perfect, the homes are charming and the staff is very welcoming and friendly! We will definitely recommend to friends and be staying there again - I'm already trying to plan our next trip!

This is really a terrific B&B! The hosts, Dinie and Carl, take guests warmly as friends and they have a terrific compound of historic buildings from which to select an accommodation, all with artistic individual details. The grounds have a a charming privacy yet it's just a short walk down a road into the center of town. Breakfasts are cozy and can be pleasingly social with an array of tasty offerings that change daily. I've been back several times and look forward to visiting again soon.

Nice place to stay. The room I stayed in was very nice. Comfy bed, nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. They also serve a nice breakfast and offer for you to leave your bags there after checkout if you want to roam around town and not have to lug everything with you. I definitely recommend this place.
